When Plagues Collide

When Plagues Collide, began their journey in June 2016. Wouter (vocalist) decided tot start up a new band after his former band, Falanx, decided to stop. He started to search for new members and got in touch with Santy (guitarist). With a similar love for some heavy music they understood each other pretty well. As Wouter en Joris are brothers and were used to play music together, Wouter called him to tell his plans and what he has been doing so far. Joris got excited as well and jumped on the train.
Tom Noppen (former drummer) and Bastiaan Barbieux ( former bassist) also joined them and When Plagues Collide was a fact.
The band first came with a pure deathcore EP called ‘Shrine of hatred’ (2017). A
brutal start but not yet the sound they were looking for. New songs were written. Santy got us all challenged to make it faster and a bit more technical. At this point they decided to separate ways with their drummer Tom. They found Siebe, a young teenager boy who just got into puberty.. ;) Back then he was 17 years old, but he had the skills we were looking for.
After a year, in 2018, the first full length album was a fact. ‘Tutor of the dying’ was not pure deathcore anymore. It had more influences of melodic death metal and symphonic black metal, but still with the brutal riffing and breakdowns of pure deathcore. With Tutor they came close to what they were willing to make. After playing a lot of shows to promote Tutor of the dying Bastiaan had to stop playing music with us because of medical reasons.
Joshua, who already played guitar at his band awaiting chaos, did audition and his skills as a guitarist were quite remarkable when he played the bass. Immediately it was clear that he must join the band. With Corona coming and everything got canceled. WPC decided to take their time to work hard on their personal skills as musicians. The writing process for their next album was started but they were very critical. They wanted to blow everything and everyone away and didn't want to disappoint the expectations of their fans and their closeby support.
In 2022, they finally were fully convinced of what they had written and got back to Yarne Heylen of Project Zero to record their second album. Due to a lot of
circumstances after recording, it didn’t go as they expected. But yet, a few months later, in April 2023, there it was. ‘An Unbiblical Paradigm’ was a fact and the band is ready and fully excited to promote this masterpiece to everyone who waited so long.
